TV actress Kavita Chaudhary, best known for her roles in Doordarshan’s shows Apradhi Kaun, Udaan and IPS Diaries, passed away due to cardiac arrest while battling cancer. The actress died on 15 February due to cardiac arrest.
The actress, best known for her roles in the TV serial “Udaan” and as ‘Lalitaji’ in surf commercials, died on Thursday. She was 54 years old. The TV actress gained most popularity for her role of an IPS officer in Doordarshan’s “Udaan”.
Friends Amit Bahl and Anang Desai expressed condolences
He expressed condolences to his family and expressed grief over his sudden demise. Anagh Desai said, “Kavita and we were classmates at the National School of Drama. Kavita, Anupam, me, Satish and others, we all were in the same class so I have known him since then. I also have many special memories with him. He is remembered for what he did. This is very sad news. It’s been a few years since we met.”
Amit Bhel said, “Kavita ji was our senior at the National School of Drama and both of us were trained by the same person. We have been to Mumbai two-three times. She was in Amritsar when she died last night. This is very sad news. She was a very great human being, a great actor and producer. Condoled his sudden demise.
The funeral took place this morning (February 16).
The actress, who was suffering from ill health for a long time, died in Amritsar. His last rites were performed on Friday morning. According to media reports, he breathed his last at Parvati Devi Hospital in Amritsar, where he was undergoing treatment. Kavita died yesterday due to a heart attack. Written and directed by Kavita herself, it aired in 1989. The show was based on the life of her sister Kanchan Choudhary Bhattacharya, who became the second IPS officer after Kiran Bedi.
The poem inspired a lot of young women as there was very little representation of women in the police force at that time. ‘Udaan‘ gained immense popularity and made him a household name. The show was re-telecast on Doordarshan during the COVID-19 pandemic.
